Have you always dreamed of challenging Darth Maul without the fear of ending up as Qui-Gon Jinn in Episode 1? The augmented reality video game Star wars: Jedi Challenges based on Lenovo’s Mirage viewer gives us the chance to avenge Liam Neeson by confidently, and securely, gripping our lightsaber.

Becoming a new Jedi is simple by downloading the dedicated app on our smartphone and inserting it in the Mirage viewer by Lenovo, a sensor will be placed on the ground and is the reference for the games, while the controller is the replica of Skywalker’s lightsaber.
Mirage is a viewer for augmented reality and this means that the game images overlap with what we see without completely blocking the view. In this way we can fight with Darth Vader in the living room but without the risk, in my case, to break the precious fuxia punk panther on the table next to the TV.

Star Wars: Jedi Challanges is designed in three different ways: the swordfighting, the strategic mode (a game in real time where we have to command miniatures of rebel and imperial armies) and the Holochess (the same game of circular chess) which is played on the Millenium Falcon). Besides this there is also an assault mode, in which we will have to fight against representatives of the Galactic Empire and the First Order … a child’s play for us Jedi experienced!
