Taking pictures with our smartphone just got easier thanks to the improved quality of the images, but it is not so obvious take photographs of impact to food: framing, light … the images must be aesthetically beautiful and give justice to what we have in the pot.
So I took advantage of the dinner at Rigolo Milan restaurant to taste the excellent wine Valpolicella proposed by historic cellars Tedeschi and to put into practice some tricks that I want to share with you.
Shot
The distance from the lens and the position determine the angle of the shot if it is parallel to the picture it gives an overview and a shot as perpendicular is very natural because it is the kind of vision that we normally have of what is on table and give more prominence to the thickness of objects such as glasses and bottles.
That’s why I chose this shot to capture the bottle Capitel Monte Olmi, Amarone Valpolicella DOCG, perfect with meat, such as a tartare fassona… awesome!
Color
Personally I love playing with contrasting colors between meals, food and surfaces. This simple cuditè served with excellent Martenigo extra virgin olive oil and accompanied by Lucchine fresh and fruity wine, is the demonstration of how even the simplest dishes can be impressive.
Set
In general, give the impression that you really are at the table to eat gives to picture a very real effect as well as care in dishwashing location details, color, place mats.
In this case it was not difficult as I really was looking forward to taste the historical Tedeschi Wines labels.
