It can not be a holiday by the sea without a bikini posing on the rocks, the photo of our legs in the sun, beach umbrella and horizon. In all these shots water is often used as a fund, delimiting the sea to a blue band that screams “summer!” without considering it an interesting and, why not, photogenic element.
Here are some small tips for incredible shots to be made even with smartphone.

Safety

Never underestimate the strength is the unpredictability of the sea, so do not lose sight of sudden waves or unexpected currents just to make a shot. Knowing how to float is not enough: to capture underwater acrobatics you must know how to swim well.

Do not underestimate the security of your smartphone and then equip yourself with waterproof cases, you will find many o Amazon.

Light

Underwater it is better to shoot when the sun is more vertical, that is between 10 am and 2 pm: your subject will be more enlightened. On the other hand, if you want to capture the sunrise or the sunset, taking pictures on the water will take full advantage of the lighting conditions. You can thus portray beautiful effects on the subjects and on the surface of the water.

Sharpness

The luck of shooting in clear seas is not a constant. When you are underwater, therefore, get as close as possible to your subjects to avoid undefined results due to turbidity.

Colours

To keep the colors more natural, retract your subjects close to the surface. By doing some testing you will find that the more you dive, the more colors will turn to blue.

Point of view

Frame the subjects horizontally at eye level, or even from bottom to top, to give your viewer the feeling of being in the water.

Movement

To resume a movement, use the smartphone in burst mode. The phone will burst a series of images in no time to ensure you capture the entire course of the action. Then, in retrospect, you can choose the most significant instant.

Happy holiday!
