Los Angeles was a city that I had dreamed about since I was a teenager, daughter of the numerous series and films of the 1990s filmed in the city of angels. Certainly glamorous and elegant, I didn’t expect the sportier side.

The mild climate and the almost flat territory (with the exception of the famous Hollywood hill) make it perfect for jogging, which is in fact widely practiced.
Among the various possible routes, my favorite is certainly the one that overlooks the beach of Santa Monica in one of the most scenic routes in the States.

The route is very popular at every hour of the day and in the evening with runners but not only: it is easy to meet rollerblades, skateboards and bicycles. In general, the Santa Monica beach is in fact frequented by those who love taking care of their bodies and want to alternate jogging with open-air gym sessions: the Original Muscle Beach is indeed a complete area with many free tools, from bars to rise up to the rings.

Returning to running, the most famous route is the Ocean Front Walk, 22 miles flat and equipped with fountains and rest areas with breathtaking views of the ocean and the scenic Malibu beach.
The path continues with San Vincente, the ring that surrounds Santa Monica and joins it with Brentwood, with grassy terrain and a slight gradient that makes it pleasantly varied.

If you love hilly landscapes you can reach the hills behind Main Street with the path that stretches from the bay in the hills of Bicknell, Pacific, Strand, Hollister, Ocean Park, Hill, Ashland and Marine.

Keep running!
