ature and young children? Yes, it’s possible — and stress-free too.

Traveling with small children doesn’t mean you have to give up on nature, adventure, or the freedom of a flexible itinerary. We know this firsthand: we travel with our 4-year-old son and 10-month-old daughter, and our holidays are anything but conventional.

We prefer spontaneous, day-by-day travel plans, allowing us to adapt to the weather, our energy, and (most importantly) the kids’ moods. We love mixing urban stops with nature escapes, always trying to avoid overtourism. Our ideal vacation is all about slow days, grassy fields to roll in, and quiet corners for our kids to safely explore.

Practical Tips for Baby-Friendly Nature Travel

  • Choose accommodations with outdoor spaces: gardens, terraces, or nearby playgrounds make a huge difference. Kids need freedom to move after long car rides.
  • Don’t fear last-minute booking: with the right tools (apps and websites), you can travel flexibly even in high season.
  • Pack a waterproof blanket and some toys: great for spontaneous picnics in the green or relaxed breaks in the park.
  • Balance city visits with nature time: one day exploring a market or museum, followed by a forest walk or lakeside break, creates the perfect family rhythm.
  • Follow your kids’ pace: slowing down, shortening drives, taking long pauses — it all helps make your trip feel more natural and serene.

Our Travel Style

We’re not into all-inclusive resorts or pre-packaged holidays. We love freedom, green trails, and discovering new places slowly. We look for authentic, off-the-beaten-path destinations where we can breathe fresh air and let the kids be… kids. With a few small adjustments, traveling with babies and toddlers becomes not only possible — but beautifully natural.
