Hoka’s Clifton running shoes are a great reference in terms of daily training shoes, a shoe that stands out for its combination of cushioning, softness and lightness.

The new Hoka Clifton 9 maintains the most appreciated features of the previous versions, such as the greater space for the toes in the forefoot, the upper in breathable technical mesh and also the more stable cushioning. But of course there are also improvements that make the HOKA Clifton 9 a great choice for light to medium sized, neutral stride runners, while the wider shape also makes inserting insoles possible for those runners who, like me, need a little more support as the miles go by.

In general I would describe the Hoka Clifton 9 with three adjectives:

  • cushioning: the midsole is light, soft and cushioning with a stack height of 32-27 mm. 5 mm drop that gives a very soft feel even under the forefoot.
  • easy: these are shoes that are easy to put on, even if they have 3mm more foam underfoot than its predecessor. The “rocker” geometry is the main attraction, because it makes the shoe nice and soft when running slowly, but also when pushing a little harder.
  • controlled: The wide tread, stability around the heel and arch support make the Hoka Clifton 9 a stable volume training shoe for different types of road running.

Keep running!
