Since becoming a mom, I’ve started paying much more attention to what I put on the table for myself and my kids. Taking the kids to the farmer’s market has become an adventure: they enjoy the colors, taste new foods, and understand that every meal begins with the land.

In the kitchen, I’ve started giving more space to plant-based proteins, experimenting with legumes, grains, and vegetables. I haven’t cut out meat or fish completely, but I’ve realized that reducing their consumption and choosing higher-quality options when I do buy them is a balanced and sustainable choice. I often prepare simple recipes that my kids love, like lentil soups or chickpea patties—meals that feel like home while being kind to the planet.

Keeping the pantry organized also helps. Avoiding food waste is one of the easiest ways to be sustainable: reusing leftovers, freezing extra portions, and planning weekly meals are small habits that save time, money, and resources.

In the end, eating sustainably is about awareness and simplicity. You don’t need to aim for perfection: starting with accessible, concrete actions is more than enough. For me, it means teaching my children not only to eat well but also to care for the world they live in. From pantry to plate, every choice matters 🌱.
