How many umbrellas you have lost in your life?
Not many lost for me, but often happens that I leave mine at home and I’m taken by surprise by the rain.
However, I think that my friend Luce is the biggest funder of the strret vendors of umbrellas because of all those she forgot in the train, metro or restaurant.
It would be because with the money Luce and me spent in lastminute umbrellas we could pay few months rent, but as soon as I read on Kickstarter about Oombrella I thought about us.
As can you imaginefrom the name, Oombrella is actually … an umbrella, the difference is that it is connected with our smartphone and it will notice us about the weather conditions that is going to change and if we forget it. Being also connected to the wezoo community, we can exchange information in real time with other members.
In addition to being smart and functional, Oombrella is also very cool: my favorite is the shiny edition, transparent and iridescent.

I would suggest, if possible, another function to designers: an alert when the umbrella is picked. If it is true that I’m careful to don’t lose my umbrella, in fact, I think I have the primacy as how often mine is stolen outside shops or restaurant…. It happened also in Tokyo, the city of the absence of anti-theft device as they are not very uncommon!
